Blog Assignment #52-Mid-Term Project

1.            Right now, America is buzzing about what is going to be Sarah Palin's next move. Is she trying to become more of a celebrity? Or is she going to run for President? Well, what does God think about it? What does God think about politics in general?                God gave us leaders in our life to...well...lead us! He has chosen certain people to help America. Other people, we chose. Some people say, "Well, it's because of God that America is going down." No. It is not because of God. It is because of these people who do not know anything about politics, elect someone who should not have been elected, and then blame God when things start to go wrong.
                I think God has given us Sarah Palin for a reason. She is so awesome, and she stands for Christian, Conservative views! I personally think (along with many others) that God has given us her because she is going to help America in many, MANY ways! I'm sure God thinks the same thing. He has given us a great person! All we need to do is open our eyes and see what is right in front of us!

3. The Big Bad Wolf:
                This book is about many abductions. The time kidnapping all the people are known as "The Big Bad Wolf" team. One woman who was kidnapped was Elizabeth Collony, who was abducted from her home.
                Of course, this is a fiction book. Even though it is fiction, things like this happen every day! Abductions, murders, everything! Dr. Alex Cross has to investigate the crime scene and try to stop the Wolves from attacking again. Can he do it? Or will he be their next victim?
                This is a very well written book my James Paterson. Since it's on the bestsellers list, it is recommended for anyone! I wouldn't mind reading it myself! n59036.jpg

1. Woman Charged in $600K Theft:
           Over a 3 and 1/2 year period, a woman was able to steal $600,000 dollars from her work. The thief was
Tina Castaneda; age 46. The money was being used to pay off credit cards and other things. She worked for Disdeldorf since 1999, and stole $605,2860. As you can guess, she no longer works there anymore. 


2. Man Found Fatally Shot:
            A man was found shot and killed in the Back of the Yards neighborhood early Sunday. He was found at about 3:00 a.m. and was reported to be unresponsive. The gunshot was to the head. There are no suspects yet. Police are still searching for any possible suspects. 


3. Lakeview Resident Receives Suspicious Package:
             A man found a suspicious package at his door. Police spent hours inspecting the package. It is still unknown what is in the package. So far, no one is injured and no one is in custody. The police and Arson Unit are still investigating.


4. To His Loved Ones, Slain CHA Officer Was Superman:
             Former Chicago Housing Authority, Stephen Peters, was killed. He loved the comic book character Superman, and adopted the name for himself. Everyone soon started calling him that. He was not just "Superman", but he was a hero in their eyes. His loved ones all say, R.I.P. Superman.


5. Sleep Research Leads to Simple Snoring Solution:
             Do you snore REALLY bad? Well, they think they've found a solution for it! At least, why you are snoring.  They say that snoring is caused by OSA, which causes you to stop breathing at night. OSA can cause many different health problems.

1. 6 Victims for the Murder of Earl Wheeler:
           Earl Wheeler was a 21 year old bartender at the bar Pat O'Brians. Wheeler was shot Nov. 26, at around 3:30 am. They have 6 suspected people, but they have no REAL victims. hey are convicted of second-degree murder. If you have any information, please contact them immediately.

2. I Remember It Well:
           A woman says she still remembers the day one of her friends was abducted in her own garage. After, she was murdered. The abductor said he killed her for her shoes. HER SHOES?! The woman also remember 100 other abductions that happened in the area.

3. Show Your New Saints License Plait!:
          Come on! What are you waiting for?! Buy a Saints License Plait! It has a fleurd-de-leis (I think I spelled that right.) They are REALLY cool! So show your Saints Spirit Today!!! :)

4. Orange Festival:
           This happens in Fort Jackson. They have many foods. Crawfish, desserts, beverages. I REALLY want to go! So, GO GO GO! :)

1. Pirates of The Caribbean 4 Stars a Disneyland On December 13:
        Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is coming out next summer. I can't wait to see it!!!!!!!!!! Antyways, The stars will all be at Disneyland on December 13. People are allowed to come, but the tickets to get in are about 3 times as much! There will also be an after party for everyone.

2. Who Should Star With Johny Depp in His New Movie - Lone Ranger:
        Many people have voted to see who should help star. Hugh Jackman, Ryan Renolds, George Clooney, Jon Hamm, or Jake Gyllenhaal? I personally think either Hugh Jackman or Ryan Renolds. Ryan Renolds would be such a surprise. NO ONE would expect him! But that's just me. :) So be watching to see who's in the movie!

3. Obama Makes Surprise Visit to Afghanistan:
        President Obama slipped away and made a surprise visit to the dangerous Afghanistan. He landed at night due to the intense security. He was meeting with the president, Hamid Karzai.His stay was to be 6 hours. He wanted to show that he was able to put aside differences and end the war.

4. Ron Santo Dies at 70:
        Ron Santo was a former baseball player of the Chicago Cubs. He died from complication from bladder cancer. After going into a coma Wednesday, he never woke up. He died Thursday in Arizona. Friends and family say he will be deeply missed.

5. Buy Toy Story 3 Gear:
        Have you ever wanted to be Buzz Lightyear or Woodie?! Well, now you can! It's just a click away. Amazon.com is where people can buy this AMAZING gear! I want to.

1. Iraq Hangs a Footballer's Mistress:
      Shahla Jahed was recently excecuted by hanging for the murder of a footballer's mistress. Shahla was the 146 person to be executed in Iran this year. Reporters say that Jahed prayed before the execution and asked for her life to be spared. Jahed was kept in Evin prison. She was also executed there.

2. Ball Lightning May Explain UFOs:
      Some UFO sightings may be explained by ball lightning. Ball lightning is lightning that strikes, but in the sky, it looks like a ball. This might be what some people are seeing. Sense it is in a ball form, it is much brighter. This is mainly why some people mistake it for a UFO.

3. The Queen Braves Cold for Chronicles Of Narnie:
        The Queen along with the Duke of Edinburgh attended the shooting of the third Narnia: The Dawn Treader. The Queen and the Duke both received a pair of 3D glasses to watch the movie. Actor, Liam Neeson (Aslan), said, "I am honored to have the Queen come see our movie." I know I would be VERY happy!

4. Huge Studies of Breckland Habitat Reveals Rare Species:
        The Brecks is a home to most of the UK's rare species. Actually, more than a quarter. Many rare species who have been found are endangered. Animals such as rare insects, or animals you see everyday (furry, swimming, etc.). The Brecks has been considered to be the biggest place to have found so many species in 1 region!

5. Why Do Schools Shut Down When it Snows?: 
        Well, schools think safety is very important. One of the reasons schools close is obvious. Snow is heavy-->no one is going anywhere. Schools close because they don't want anyone getting hurt from anything (slippery ice, falling ice) while going to and from school. How would you like to be walking and a big ball of hail hits you on the head?!

Weird names:

           How many times have you been in the store and you heard a mom say "Tulip! Come here!" Every time I hear that, I turn around and say in my head, "WHAT?! DID YOU JUST TELL A TULIP TO COME SEE?" Then I look and see a little girl (or boy) going see their mom! How weird?

           Well, I have come up with A BUNCH of weird names that you might like! One teacher said she once had twins in her class named Oranjello and Lemonjello! Did you know that Oranjello is really Orange jello? Same with Lemonjello! Who would name their kids such IDIOTIC names?!

           Next, we have the names Ocean, Sonnet and True. Who would name their kids this?! Evidently, Forest Whitaker would. It is down right stupid! These kids have to go on living their lives with these RIDICULOUS names!

           Kal-El Coppola . This is the name of Nicholas Cages's son. Or daughter! I don't even know! The Coppola name is pretty, but what's with the Kal-El?! It's SOOO weird!

Weird Yet Sweet Smells:

           There are many sweet, yet weird smells. I have a WHOLE list of them! I will tell you 3 of them for now. Next week, there will be three more! I hope you enjoy!

           Cut grass. This is an amazing smell! I like the smell of cut grass in the beginning of summer! Right after my dad cuts our long, luscious grass, it smells wonderful! I'm sure I'm not the only one who likes this smell!

           Gasoline. I don't know why gasoline smells so good, it just does! Right after you fill up the car, the gas smell travels around. I love it! Many people I know also like the smell of gasoline. It smells somewhat sweet!

           New books. Have you ever got a new book and opened it up? Next time, stick your nose in the middle of it and take a whiff! It smells sorta like...well..I don't know! It just smells good! My mom ALWAYS smells new books!

Articles on Pigs:

           Did you know that pigs are the only mammals that are almost EVERYWHERE in the world? After I think about it, they are! In almost every country, there are pigs. People sale them for money or food. Pigs are awesome!

           They are actually one of the cleanest animals in the world! Now, I find that kind of hard to believe! If theses animals roll around in the mud...ALL DAY, then how can they be clean?! That doesn't make sense! Wel,, that'd be really cool if it is true!

           Pigs actually don't role around in the mud to get dirty. They do it to get clean! Who would've known? They don't have sweat glands, so they can't sweat to cool themselves off. Therefore, rollong in the mood cools them off.

           Pigs are easier to teach tricks to than dogs. Roll over, sit, shake. All of these are easier to teach a pig than a dog! I REALLY wouldn't have known this! Since they are one of the smartest animals in the world, their brain allows them to pick up on commands easier.

Blog Assignment #39-5 Hobbies

1. Texting-  Texting is my life! I absolutely LOVE to talk!!! Whenever I text, I get to talk to friends with out the hassle of actually talking. I love to be on my phone period! I LOVE TO TEXT!!!!!!


2. Volleyball- Volleyball is one of the MANY sports I like to play! I don't really know why I like it, but I just do! I think it's the rush I get when I play it. Whenever I serve. Spike. I love it all!


3. Listening to Music- How can someone NOT like listening to music?! It is the best thing in the world! It is a way to show your emotions without actually saying them. Music is beautiful! Whether it's classical or screamo, it is still amazing!!!


4. Facebook- Facebook is probably the best website ever invented! It is my second favorite thing to do (next to texting). Again, I don't know why I like it, I just do! It is a very cool website!! I will ALWAYS get on facebook!


5. Eating- Yes. Eating is one of my hobbies. I love food! I don't eat it non-stop, but I do love to eat! I like to try different foods and see what they taste like. I like most foods, so I don't mind whenever my mom makes brussel sprouts. They are ctually one of my favorite foods!

Blog Assignment #38-5 Favorite Books

1. Percy Jackson: Lightning Thief- This is one of my ALL time favorite books! It is about a boy who finds out his dad is a Greek god. Poseidon. Great! As if Middle School isn't already hard for him. Now, he has to deal with knowing that his dad is Poseidon! I would recommend this book to anyone!


2. Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment- This is a very well written book. It is about a girl, Maximum Ride, who is living a VERY difficult life. She escaped from a place called the School along with 5 of her friends. Fang, Nudge, Iggy, Gassy, and Angel. Now they are on the run from the Erasers.


3. The Tale Of Desperaux- Desperaux is a tiny mouse that was born with VERY big ears. His mother and father already reject him, and now he is convicted of a crime! The "jury" sentences him to work in the dungeon. This is a very hard task. Desperaux has to prove himself innocent and make himself worthy to the other mice.


4. Tuck Everlasting- This book was recently made into a movie. (which I LOVED!) It is about a girl, Winnie Foster, who is basically a prisoner under her parents strict rules. As she's walking through her parent's wood one day, she meets a boy named Jesse Tuck. There's just one problem, Jesse says he can live forever, along with the rest of his family. All Winnie wants to know, is he telling the truth?


5. Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry- This book literraly made me wanted to cry! It was sooo sad! It is about a girl and her 2 brothers who go through VERY hard times. Seeing their friends go through trials and tribulations also makes it just that much worse for them. Now, they just have to get through all of this!

Blog Assignment #37-5 Favorite Movies

1. Titanic- I LOVE Titanic! I am in love with Leonardo DiCaprio! He is amazing! The Titanic is a movie that is very romantic! I would suggest boys stay away from it. :P


2. Despicable Me- This movie is an awesome movie for kids! I didn't think I would like it, but I laughed the WHOLE time! Even my dad laughed. It's about a man who adopts 3 little girls. What he doesn't know is he is in for the ride of his life!


3. Lady and the Tramp 2- This movie is one of my childhood favorites. It is about a dog who wants to be free. He is always being yelled at and watched at home. All he wants to do is break away from his everyday life and take a walk on the "wild" side. This is an adventurous movie that ANYONE will love!


4. Inception- This is also another movie with Leonardo DiCaprio in it. He is kind of like-a criminal?-I guess you could say that. He plays with people's minds to try to find out what he needs to know. It is a VERY confusing movie! I had to keep asking people to explain it to me. I still loved it! :)


5. Monster's Ink- Yes. I said it. Monster's Ink. Even though it is a kid's movie, I still love it! It is about to monsters who go on an adventure to save a little girl, Boo. Boo is a maybe three year old girl who loves Sully, one of the main monsters. They have to save her from Randal before bad things happen.

1. We The Kings- I love We the Kings! They sing beautifley with Demi Lovato! My favorite song of theirs is We'll Be a Dream. It is a romantic song that makes me happy.:)<3 I LOVE WE THE KINGS!!! 

2. Nickelback- Nickelback is an awesome rock/country band! Their music is the type of music that will make you want to sing along. It isn't really dancing music, but it's fun music.I will ALWAYS love Nickelback. They are an AMAZING band!!

3. 3 Doors Down- My favorite song by 3 Doors Down is It's Not My Time. I think this song has a message behind it. If you ever see the music video, you'll understand. There music is alot like Nickelback's. I <3 them! :)

4. Paramore- I am IN LOVE with Paramore! I have 2 favorite songs by them. Decode and You Are The Only Exception. Their lead singer, Hayley Williams, has a very distinct voice. Their music is the music you will want to dance to! <3!

5. Lost Prophets- Despite their name, they have VERY good music! My favorite song of them is Standing On The Rooftops. This isn't a screamo song, but it is very close. The music they sing can cheer you up whwnever you feel down. :) They are AMAZING!

Blog Assignment #35-My Weekend

           This weekend was SOO much fun!! I went to Abby Street's house on Friday for her birthday, on Saturday I went to a party for my friend Zach, and Sunday I hung out with some of my friends and got attacked by little kids! I have gone somewhere EVERY weekend in October! This October was the best October of my life! It was also the best month ever!!

           On Friday, Abby Street had her 14th birthday party. She invited two other girls over also, Sean and Mecauly. We bought candy, watched movies, ate pizza and cookie cake, and had a good time! Unfortunately, I was the only person that got to spend the night. It was still very fun!

           On Saturday, I went to a party my friend Zach was having. He invited some people his little sister knew, and alot of his friends. They had AWESOME food, a zip line, space walks (yes, I said space walks :) ). We were jumping on the trampoline when someone said, "Let's play crack the egg!" My friend Caroline looked at me and yelled, "Maddy's the egg!" They pushed me down and started jumping. Finally, I cracked! It was an AWESOME party!! :)

           On Sunday, me, my friends Caroline, Carley, Elizabeth, Raleigh, Eric, and Trenton all hung out. We all walked over to Carley's house to get something to eat. Raleigh's little sister, another Carley, looked at me and screamed, "PIGGY BACK!!" I turned around and saw Carley and 10 of her little friends chasing me. Along with some of my friends. I tripped and they all tackled me! Funn!! ;)

                  Kelly looked at her hands. Her cold, bloody hands. "What have I done? She was my best friend, and I killed her!" She backed away from her best friend, Josie. Kelly turned around as she heard police sirens getting closer, closer, closer. "I'm sorry, Josie," she repeated again and again. "But you were going to tell my secret. I COULDN'T let you do that! Again, I'm sorry."

                  She turned and ran away quickly from the crime scene. *BOOM, BOOM* Rain. "Great," she said sarcastically. "Just what I need! Rain!" Kelly wandered into a forest and decided she would camp here for the night. As she gathered shrubs to lay on, she thought about Josie. How she had taken her life, just like that. Then, she heard a voice. "Kelly, Kelly!" The voice whispered in her ear over and over. "Who's there? Show yourself!" She picked up a stick and was getting ready to fight.

                  Just then, the stick was thrown out of her hand. She looked around. "Who's there?!" "Quick. I'm over here!" Kelly kept looking around. She looked to her left, then to the right, then ran. She ran as fast as she could. "Help! HELP!!" She kept screaming, but no one was out there. She was thrown to the ground with such force that it broke her arm and one of her legs. *groan* "...elp. He..." She tried to mutter the word help, but she couldn't get it out of her mouth.

                 She rolled over onto her stomach and tried to crawl out of the woods. Maybe she could find help. Then it occurred to her that she was also a murderer. If anyone found her, they would turn her in. She was on her own, fighting this....thing....and no one could help her.

                 As she was slowly crawling, something grabbed her leg. "Stop!!" she screamed. "Let me go!!!!!" but the force kept pulling her deeper and deeper into the woods. She felt herself being picked up off of the ground. "Put me down!" She was screaming bloody murder now. "As you wish," the evil voice said. Kelly looked down as she was being dropped from 50 feet. "Ahhh!!!!" *thud*

                 Kelly slowly opened her eyes to find a ghostly figure standing over her. She tried to scoot back, but she was in too much pain. Then, she recognized the face of the person standing over her. "Josie? Is that you?" "Hahaa! You wish it were Josie. I'm just getting revenge for her." "Well, if you're not Josie, then who are you?" "Darling, I'm your worst nightmare!"

1. Facebook.com
This website is almost everything I do! I love to socialize!! You can upload pictures, talk to people, play games, etc. I like to see other people's profiles and look at their different things. I LOVE FACEBOOK!

2. GirlsGoGames.com
This website is very fun! you can dress people up or do their makeup. I know it sounds REALLY girly, but it's fun! They also have action games. Fantasy games are my favorite to play. I will be very sad if/when this website stops! :(

3. AddictingGames.com
I am IN LOVE with this website. It isn't all girly like other websites. It has brain twister games, action games, etc. I like the dirt bike game. You have to drive a dirt bike (the bike is very easy to flip) and try not to die whenever you go on hills.

4. Stardoll.com
This website is very similar to GirlsGoGames. It has different people you can dress up or do their makeup. But instead, this website id of celebrities. They make computer animations of celebrities and you get to dress them up! Funn!!

5. Google.com
Yes, I said Google. I like to get on and type in random things under pictures. (ex. cakes, fruit, neon) I especially like to see the beautiful types of cakes! They have Mario, wedding, and birthday! It can give people an idea of what they want for their cakes.

6. WikiAnswers.com
WikiAnswers is a fun website for people who want to learn. All you have to do is type your question and they will answer it for you. The only problem is that anyone can answer and anyone can change the answers. So, you don't always know if you're getting the right answer or not. On some of them, you can tell that they are the right answer.

7. FunBrain.com
Even though FunBrain is for kids younger than me, I still love it! Believe it or not, I like the playground the best. It has fun, easy "baby" games! :) It contains games like counting, measuring, etc. I love visiting this website!

8. Poptropica.com
Poptropica is AMAZING! It is a website of adventure. You make a character and go on adventures! Who wouldn't love that?! My friends and I (Abby Street) love to play this game in our spare time! It makes you feel like a little kid again!

9. Youtube.com
I love Youtube because you can listen to music! Next to facebook, youtube is probably my second favorite website! Instead of buying songs off of itunes, just listen to youtube. Some people can even get youtube on their phones to listen to music on the go! Then, it is just like an ipod!

10. Blogger.com
I have to get on Blogger! :) So, I guess you could say I visit it alot. This website could be used for homework, or just writing stuff. You make your own account, and write or post pretty much ANYTHING you want! As long as it's not bad or anything.

Blog Assingment #29-Facebook

          Facebook is practically my life!! I love it!! I am on it 24/7. It started out when 3 college boys wanted their own website. They were poor guys who could barely pay for college. This made them billionares!

          Teens/young adults/adults all use this social network for, well, socializing! You have your own profile and you can add pictures, add friends, and send people messages who you haven't seen in forever! Facebook can be safe if you block your profile to where only FRIENDS can read personal things. Such as pictures, info, etc. It is ALOT safer than myspace!

        Facebook can also be very dangerous. Some stupid people like to give out personal info to creepers! Little do they know that they are not really talking to "10 year old Bobby form Ohio," they are talking to "50 year old Sean from Wisconsin." I block all of my info, pics, wall post, EVERYTHING! I have heard about people who get kidnapped over social networks sucha as myspace and facebook over things like this.

        So you're probably getting bored from all of this. Now let's get to the history of Facebook. It all started in 2003. Mark Zuckerberg, Chris Hughes, and Moskavits were 3 freshmen in the college of Harvard University. They made this AMAZING website as Facemash. Suddenly, Facemas was getting VERY popular! A company decided to buy Facemash from the 3 boys and turn it into Facebook. The boys are now billionares!! Talk about following your dream!

       In conclusion, Facebook is a great website. It can be dangerous and not dangerous. In my opinion, noone under the age of 12 should have a facebook. People do not understand the dangers in this world and what could happen to them by just giving out a little information. One second, their life could be normal, but the next, they are being kidnapped and brought to another country. All of this because of a harmless website....
